A dream awakens on the roofs of Palermo's Arab-Norman Cathedral, built on the site of early Christian catacombs, once underground caves. The sea meets the two rivers Papireto and Kemonia, and Zyz, the Star-Flower, now Palermo, rises. The Sea is where Fire was born, and the fresh waters that flow from the womb of the Earth continue to nourish it. All this is now seemingly hidden and covered by man, and continues to circulate in the invisible.... In this setting, described in detail by writers and poets, the B&B Il Sonaglio was born, in a key part of Palermo. It is centrally located, approximately 200 meters from the ancient Politeama Theater, the true heart of the city, and just steps from Via Libertà and Via Ruggiero Settimo. The location offers a variety of views of the city, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the most important monuments on foot: museums, churches, and the beautiful, characteristic markets, a testament to the ancient splendor of the Arab-Norman era. Easy access to the terminus of urban buses to seaside resorts like Mondello, to our spectacular Capo Gallo nature reserve, and to itineraries to the Cathedral of Monreale and the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia. The B&B is also located approximately 500 meters from the port, where you can access the ferries that depart daily for the nature reserve on the island of Ustica. In the evening, you can explore the charming alleyways of the surrounding area, savoring the romantic and vibrant atmosphere. Different scenarios, but they converge in one word: true relaxation!
This is the ideal starting point for any type of trip you may wish to make: study, work, or vacation. Why not combine work and vacation, discovering a city of many facets that will surprise and intrigue you with the countless possibilities it offers visitors? The B&B's name is inspired by a book by Andrea Camilleri, based on his greatest work, which unfolds in a trilogy he himself defines as follows: "the best of me lies in this fantastic trilogy." CAMILLERI, a great exponent of contemporary literature, is the one who best described the pecuniary characteristics of Sicily and the Sicilians; through the pages of his countless books, he recounts the colors and flavors of those who live in a land rich in contradictions but above all splendid in its differences—differences that have made Palermo a true melting pot of cultures. Camilleri, one of the many Sicilian artists, is the one who best captured the sensations of those unfamiliar with Sicily, but deeply connected to its origins and the roots of their culture. Those who haven't been there long to come, those who have seen it cannot help but return. Sicily has always inspired its visitors, many have passed this on to us through their words and their works; it has inspired poets and artists from every nation in the world. Some have only experienced it as visitors, others were born in this land of a thousand colors.
